Home Made Weed Killer for Patios, Patio Pavers, Driveways, Sidewalks

Hi folks, if you are a regular listener to my Home Discovery radio show, you will notice that I receive a lot of requests for the highly effective, do-it-yourself weed killing formula.

Well here it is:

Mix the following ingredients together:

4 cups (1 Litre) of white vinegar

1/4 cup (50 mL) of table salt

2 tsp (10 mL) of your favorite liquid dish soap

Put this mixture into a spray bottle and spray it on your weeds when it is sunny and hot out.

Remember, this formula really works and is only recommended for driveways, sidewalks and the like. If you spray it onto the weeds in your lawn, you’re going to kill the grass too and create a big ugly brown spot.

Shell Busey Joins Team Diabetes in Iceland

Shell will be walking for a worthy cause this summer in the 2006 Team Diabetes Reykjavik Marathon. This year Shell and over 200 other Team Diabetes members are taking part on August 19th in Iceland. As this year’s Team Captain, Shell hopes to raise at least $12,000.00 by July 12th to go towards helping out the more than two million Canadians with diabetes.

Team Diabetes Canada is a Canadian Diabetes Association fundraising and awareness program that promotes physical activity to help aid in the prevention of Type 2 diabetes, while raising funds for research and education. Since its launch in 2000, more than 1500 Team Diabetes Canada members have raised over $8 million.

It’s estimated over 250,000 British Columbians live with diabetes. By 2010, diabetes incidence in B.C. is projected to be over 325,000

How you can help

You can give your support by sponsoring Shell through donating to Team Diabetes. All contributions go toward promoting health for Canadians through diabetes research, education, service and advocacy. Donations of $15 or more will automatically receive a tax receipt from the Canadian Diabetes Association. You can make donations over the phone through the Canadian Diabetes Association Website, just be sure to make reference to Shell Busey.
